The Ridge Walk North Living and Learning Neighborhood is one of the most significant campus developments in UC San Diego's history — a large-scale, mixed-use build that brings together modern student housing, academic facilities, retail, and community spaces in a single interconnected neighborhood.
The development includes three high-rise residential towers — Alianza, Umoja, and Coalition — housing approximately 2,400 undergraduate students in suite-style accommodations. Alongside housing, the project delivers Brian C. Malk Hall (home to the Department of Economics and the School of Global Policy and Strategy), 19 general assignment classrooms, a 130-seat lecture hall, and the Glass Center offering classes in glass blowing, kiln forming, and flameworking for students and the public. Campus life amenities include Goody's Cafe + Market, the Triton Esports Center, study lounges, co-working spaces, a wellness center, and a community kitchen.
